Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Division regulates solid waste, hazardous waste, Brownfields, Superfund, voluntary cleanup, radon, radioactive materials, and xray certification"

Regulates solid waste and materials management (recycling) facilities and hazardous waste generation, storage, transportation, treatment, and disposal facilities.
Ensures compliance with state hazardous waste regulations and permits and oversees remediation of contamination at federal facilities located in the state.
Assists in the cleanup of hazardous waste sites under the Superfund Program, and encourages "brownfields" redevelopment through implementation of the Voluntary Cleanup and Redevelopment Act.
Oversees management of radioactive materials and radiation services.
Provides technical assistance to the regulated community and to local agencies that must handle waste management issues and releases.
