Equipment Used
navigation
Purpose
Characterization and biological studies of Oculina deep water coral
habitat, using ROV, sediment grab, and listening devices. This is a NOAA cruise
on a NASA ship. No USGS participants were on board, but sediment grab samples
were taken and shipped to K. Scanlon.
Information to be Derived
Grain size analysis; Habitat maps.
Summary
Because of ship problems, the operation was switched from R/V Liberty
Star to R/V Freedom Star half way through the cruise. 39 sediment grab samples
were collected.
