Volunteers in Rock Creek Park

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

You can make a difference at Rock Creek Park.

Rock Creek Park is visited by 2 million visitors every year! Volunteers are needed to assist with Visitor Services, Bike Patrol and Special Events.

Individuals
Volunteers in Parks (VIP): Rock Creek Parks’s paid staff is supplemented through the "Volunteers in Parks" (VIP) program which provides volunteers to all park divisions. In FY 2008 about 3089 volunteers (Volunteers-In-Parks) donated over 15,000 hours to the park. Most of these volunteer hours 10,700 were for interpretive programs and the rest were distributed among the Administration, Maintenance, Cultural Resources, and Natural Resources Divisions. Volunteers are recruited through word of mouth, local partner organizations and publications, and National Park Service websites.

Coyote

Did You Know?
Coyote sightings have been reported in Washington, DC since May 2004. DO NOT FEED or attempt to feed them. Once a wild animal gets accustomed to being fed by humans there is much more likelihood that an individual will get bitten by an animal looking for food.
