Driftnet Impact Monitoring, Assessment, and Control Act of 1987
Driftnet Impact Monitoring, Assessment, and Control Act of 1987 (Driftnet Act) -- Section 107
of P.L. 101-627, the Fishery Conservation Amendments of 1990, signed November 28, 1990,
amends section 206 of the Magnuson Fishery Conservation and Management Act to incorporate
and expand upon the provisions of the Driftnet Act. The Driftnet Act directs the Secretary of the
Interior, in cooperation with the Secretary of Commerce and the Secretary of State, to provide
information on the impacts of large-scale driftnet fisheries on seabirds in the north Pacific
Ocean.
