Ask anyone who has been living in the Tennessee Valley for over 25 years if the name H.D. Bagley is familiar and, chances are, they'll know exactly who you are talking about. H.D. has a legacy for being one of Huntsville's most trusted weathermen in his time. He was the first weatherman on television in Huntsville at WHNT-TV, where he began in 1963. Just less than three weeks before his death on Friday, July 16th, Meteorologist-in-Charge John Gordon and Cooperative Student Holly Allen of the National Weather Service in Huntsville sat down with H.D. to talk about his life, his accomplishments, and his legacy. Here, we will share these memories with you and look back over the career of a Huntsville weather icon.
