UNITED WE SERVE

This summer, President Obama is calling on all Americans – young and old, from every background, all across this country – to participate in our nation's recovery and renewal by serving in their communities. Starting on June 22, the United We Serve campaign will engage Americans from coast to coast in addressing community needs in education, health care, energy independence, economic renewal, and other issues.

The President has said that the challenges America face are unprecedented, and that we need to build a new foundation for economic growth in America. The administration has begun this work with dramatic new investments in education, health care and clean energy, but we cannot do this alone here in Washington. Economic recovery is as much about what you're doing in your communities as what we're doing in Washington – and it’s going to take all of us, working together. This summer, the president is calling on all Americans to make volunteerism and community service part of their daily life and the life of this nation.
