Invasive Aspergillosis Animal Models (IAAM)
About
What services does this resource provide?
The Invasive Aspergillosis Animal Models (IAAM) program supports research to establish and standardize mouse, rat, and guinea pig models of invasive aspergillosis that can be used to apply genomic and proteomic information regarding pathogenicity and virulence of
Aspergillus
in order to improve diagnosis and monitor therapy for this disease. The program:
Provides two types of biological research resources for investigators
Reagents, e.g. serum or tissues from both A. fumigatus infected and control animals to conduct preclinical testing in their own labs to identify new diagnostic markers or to study new diagnostic methods.
A molecular toolbox for evaluating the effects of gene expression or gene deletions as related to new diagnostics.
Conducts preclinical
in vivo
testing of candidate diagnostics or potential markers of disease
Provides training in the use of the animal models
Provides
Standard Operating Procedures
