  • The following is a release by the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center: A strong earthquake occurred NEAR SANTIAGO DEL ESTERO, about 210 km (130 miles) ENE of San Miguel de Tucuman, or 255 km (160 miles) SE of Salta, Argentina at 7:26 PM MDT, Nov 12, 2006 (10:26 PM local time in Argentina). The magnitude and location may be revised when additional data and further analysis results are available. There have been no reports of damage at this time.
