Maternal Health: Partnerships

USAID works in close partnership with international,
regional, and local partners to leverage maternal
and newborn health awareness, political commitment,
and funding. The variety of partners include NGOs,
UN Agencies, bilateral donors, development banks,
foundations, and universities. Working together
these partnerships advance research, seek resources,
promote life-saving initiatives, and scale-up activities.
Collaborations also include agencies and governments
that are designing and implementing programs related
to maternal and newborn health outcomes such as
HIV/AIDS and malaria.
Specific maternal health partnerships
in which USAID is active include the White
Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood ,
Healthy Newborn Partnership Interagency Group, Initiative
for Maternal Mortality Programme Assessment (IMMPACT),
and the Partnership
for Safe Motherhood and Newborn Health.
USAID assistance supports the development and implementation
