Generally EPA's materials or information prepared by other government agencies can be freely copied; however private or commercial sites may be protected by copyright. Users are advised to check carefully for restrictions or copyrights before reproducing material from these sites.

ENVIRONMENTAL INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EIMS)

HEDS is integrated with EIMS, the metadata repository for EPA's Office of Research and Development (ORD).

EIMS capabilities extend beyond what is used with HEDS. For more information on using EIMS, go to: http://www.epa.gov/eims/ and look for the EIMS User's Guide or you can search for more ORD information contained in EIMS.

Unzipping Software

Data set packages available through HEDS are zipped (compressed) to allow for easier and faster download. These packages can be unzipped with most zip software. Several free unzipping software packages that received good ratings from software review sites and are available for most Windows operating systems include:
