ICLEI hosts networking breakfast with Nordic cities
The ICLEI Canada Office recently organized a networking and information-sharing breakfast that paired municipal staff from the Southern Ontario region with representatives from four Nordic cities. Participants were eager to learn about one another’s experiences, as discussion topics ranged from large-scale district energy systems and building retrofits to renewable and community energy projects. Canadians Collaborate with their Nordic Counterparts
Municipal professionals from Canada joined with their Nordic counterparts at the Ängavallen sustainable ecological farm in southern Sweden for an intimate three-day networking and knowledge exchange event on climate change adaptation and mitigation, Sept 14 – 16, 2011. The program included inspiring presentation to set the tone for the event from Mayor Ilmar Reepalu, of neighbouring Malmö, Sweden and Alec Estlander from the Finnish Environment Institute and former Chairman of the Nordic Climate and Air Group.
