Youth Transition

As adolescents become adults, they must assume responsibility for their health care. Adolescents with special health care needs face difficult transitions to adult care, and to achieving greater financial independence. As all children become young adults, health insurance coverage becomes a major factor in their access to health care, because it is during this time that they are in personal transition between their parents and independence.
