- The Defense Acquisition University Alumni Association, in coordination with the DAU Acquisition Community Connection, sponsored the 8th in a series of no-cost hot topic forums hosted at the Defense Acquisition University Capital/Northest (Ft. Belvoir) Campus on 16 May 2007. The presentation - "Evolutionary Acquisition in Action - the Missile Defense Agency at Work!" - was given by Ms. Katrina Wahl, the Missile Defense Agency Deputy for Acquisition Management, and the Agency's Acquisition Executive. - The DAU Alumni Association (DAUAA) in coordination with their industry associates and the DAU Acquisition Community Connection (ACC), sponsored a no-cost brown bag Hot Topic Forum hosted at the DAU Fort Belvoir campus in the Multi-Purpose Room, Bldg. 226, Scott Hall, on Wednesday, 16 May 2007. The Hot Topic Forum was titled: Evolutionary Acquisition in Action: The Missile Defense Agency at Work! The presentation covered the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) mission and an overview of their RDT&E and Procurement program for our nation's missile defense. It focused on the MDA approach to evolutionary acquisition and lesson learned in pursuing that strategy. It also covered MDA's use of a capabilities-based acquisition strategy versus a threat-based acquisition strategy. The guest speaker was Ms. Katrina Wahl, Deputy for Acquisition Management at MDA; she also serves as the MDA acquisition executive.
