Following the presentations on April 4th, 2000 there will be an informal picnic kindly sponsored by the Urschel family and the Carter Centers for Brain Research in Holoprosencephaly and Related Malformations. Depending on the weather, this picnic will either be held in a local park, or picnic style in the conference rooms following the sessions. This will allow an informal forum for families to interact among themselves and with the medical professionals participating in the meetings and conferences. We look forward to seeing you there.

The family conferences will conclude April 5th, 2000. However, families are encouraged to schedule their own activities, visit any of the museums, the Smithsonian, the cherry blossoms or any of the other activities of the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Local transportation for tourists is excellent through a convenient subway system. The conference organizers will be happy to assist you in providing maps and further details of the Washington D.C. and suburban Maryland areas.
