A seagull flies over the California Coastal National Monument which stretches along the entire coast of California and extends 12 miles into the Pacific Ocean.  The Monument includes 20,000 rocks, islands, pinnacles and reefs.

Volunteers are needed to work behind the scenes to restore and reconstruct the Piedras Blancas Light Station back to its original condition. This is an exceptional opportunity to become involved at the intial stage in the restoration of this facility as part of the California Coastal National Monument.

An army of volunteers dedicates numerous hours and effort to help BLM restore and rebuild the Piedras Blancas Light Station. Volunteers are not only tour guides, they perform everything from gardening and maintenance to removing invasive ice plant and restoring native plant species.  They raise funds by selling cookbooks.
