A seagull flies over the California Coastal National Monument which stretches along the entire coast of California and extends 12 miles into the Pacific Ocean.  The Monument includes 20,000 rocks, islands, pinnacles and reefs.

Generally open last Saturday in April through November 1st. Fee: $5.00/night/site. Maximum Stay Limit is 14 days.

  • Long Term Visitor Area (LTVA) Permits available, if wish to stay past maximum stay limit. Inquire at White Mountain Ranger Station in Bishop or Interagency Visitor Center in Lone Pine.
  • No potable water
  • First come first serve. Campground capacity - 376 people.
  • Horses prohibited in campground.
  • 47 RV/tent sites available. 4 pit toilets, pull-through trailer spaces, group trailer parking area, picnic tables, campfire rings/stands (bring own firewood or purchase). No electrical hook-ups.

Elevation - 7,000 ft. Campground is located in the open high desert country. There are no trees and winds can often be strong. The area looks out over Long Valley and Crowley Lake, a popular fishing site. Closest amenities are north, in Mammoth Lakes (10 miles) or south at Crowley Lake community (2 miles).

Directions: US Highway 395 to Crowley Lake exit. Proceed west through the Crowley Lake Community for 2 miles. Turn north (right) at Crowley Lake Drive and proceed for 2 miles. Follow sign to campground.
