Congress established the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission (EEOC) 35 years ago to enforce Title VII of the Civil
Rights Act of 1964. With headquarters in Washington, D.C., and 50
field offices nationwide, EEOC is the Federal Government's premier
civil rights agency. This is a chronology by calendar year
