U.S. Secretary of Education Rod Paige today announced that Patricia M. Chlouber will serve as the Secretary's Regional Representative for Region VIII. With headquarters in Denver, Region VIII includes the states of Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming.

"I am pleased to have Pat Chlouber working on President Bush's No Child Left Behind education reform agenda," Paige said. Elected to the Colorado State Board of Education in 1996, Chlouber has served as Vice Chairman and Chairman of that board in Colorado. Previously, Chlouber also served as Western Area Director to the National Association of State Boards of Education and as member of the Education Leaders Council.

A native of Newkirk, Okla., Chlouber received her undergraduate degree from Oklahoma Baptist University and a master's degree in education from the University of Colorado.
