Living History Volunteers help immerse visitors in the sights and sounds of the past, and the circumstances that created Harpers Ferry National Historical Park’s nationally significant themes. National Parks preserve America’s collective memory. Living History Volunteers allow visitors to access these memories and bring them to life.
Volunteers provide information, orientation and interpretation to thousands of park visitors relaying the national significance of the Harpers Ferry area. Duties include conducting historic research, planning and delivering public history talks and tours while in costume.
