Community Service Projects

SERVICE PROJECTS

Service groups include church, scouting, professional, business and special interest groups. Some of the potential projects include mulching trails, painting, washing windows, picking up litter and weeding gardens.

Special News and Kudos:

On September 24 nineteen senior students and 5 teachers from St. Mary's Hall/Doane Academy, Burlington, New Jersey constructed a Virginia worm fence along School House Ridge--South Battlefield. This hard-working crew also cleaned up trash along the Potomac River/Lower Armory Grounds.

This service project completed by volunteers resulted in the completion of 250 feet of fence and the collection of over 15 bags of litter. Savings to the park was $2,575. Thanks guys!

The Appalachian Trail runs through Harpers Ferry. A short walk along the trail from the lower town to the C&O Canal will take you from West Virginia to Maryland in just a few minutes.
