FXUS65 KFGZ 250304 AFDFGZ AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FLAGSTAFF AZ 800 PM MST FRI OCT 24 2008 .SYNOPSIS...HIGH PRESSURE WILL BRING A WARMING TREND AND LIGHT WINDS TO THE REGION THROUGH THE WEEKEND. A WEAK WEATHER SYSTEM WILL COOL TEMPERATURES SLIGHTLY BY EARLY NEXT WEEK...BUT DAYTIME HIGHS WILL STILL BE ABOVE NORMAL. && .DISCUSSION...SOME HIGH CLOUDS ARE MOVING THROUGH UTAH AND COLORADO AT THIS TIME. THESE CLOUDS WILL EVENTUALLY MAKE THEIR WAY SOUTHWARD OVER NORTHERN ARIZONA AND NEW MEXICO THIS EVENING. HAVE MADE MINOR TWEAKS TO THE SKY GRIDS AS A RESULT AND WILL HAVE THOSE UPDATES OUT SHORTLY. OTHERWISE...NO OTHER CHANGES ARE ANTICIPATED THIS EVENING AS HIGH PRESSURE BRINGS QUIET WEATHER ACROSS THE STATE. .PREVIOUS DISCUSSION (240PM MST)...A LARGE AMPLITUDE RIDGE WILL BRING ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES...A VERY DRY BOUNDARY LAYER...AND RELATIVELY LIGHT WINDS TO THE REGION THROUGH SUNDAY. HIGH CLOUDS WILL OCCASIONALLY DRIFT OVER THE STATE WITH LITTLE IMPACT. SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE WILL MOVE THROUGH EASTERN NEW MEXICO AND TEXAS ON MONDAY GIVING NORTHERN ARIZONA EASTERLY BREEZES AND A FEW DEGREES OF DAYTIME COOLING. SOME MOISTURE AND A WEAK S/WV MAY MOVE THROUGH THE RIDGE BY THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK...BUT PRECIPITATION CHANCES ARE VERY SLIGHT AT THIS TIME. && .AVIATION...FOR THE 06Z PACKAGE...EXPECT VFR CONDITIONS THROUGH THE FORECAST PERIOD.
