CONSUMER INFORMATION YOU CAN TRUST

For years, people have written to Pueblo, Colorado to request copies of publications that answered all kinds of consumer questions, whether they wanted to learn how to get a mortgage, set up a college savings plan or start a healthy diet.

But did you know that all of those low-cost or free publications are only a mouse click away at pueblo.gsa.gov? The site offers immediate information when you can’t wait to find out the answers to pressing questions like how to talk to your teen about alcohol or which sunscreen will best protect you on your tropical vacation.

The site offers information on health, education, travel, food, small businesses, cars, computers and federal programs and gives you the opportunity to read online or order a printed copy of the publication.

If you don’t have a specific topic in mind to read up on, but want to be an overall educated consumer, check out the Publication of the Week section. You’ll find information on timely issues such as preparing your home for disasters or healthy eating at every age.

Pueblo.gsa.gov also features the Consumer Focus, a monthly spotlight on consumer topics that affect your life, such as learning the basics of Web 2.0 or Medicare, written for busy people who don’t have time to dedicate to in-depth reading.

For teachers, pueblo.gsa.gov offers free posters to spruce up classroom walls and age-appropriate lesson plans to engage students using the valuable information contained on USA.gov and in the Consumer Action Handbook. Students can go on a virtual scavenger hunt where they learn about shopping safely online and protecting their privacy. They can also learn how to file a complaint letter or buy a car.

No matter what the consumer question is, pueblo.gsa.gov gives you access to the information you need.
