Our slogan is Serving Those Who Served. But it’s more than just a slogan. It’s the reason why I and everyone at the NM Dept. of Veterans’ Services come to work every day: We work to serve every single one of New Mexico’s 180,000 veterans. We make sure they and their dependents get every single benefit they’re entitled, because our veterans have earned these rights by serving and protecting our country. It is our mission to serve you, the veterans. Whether you were honorably discharged after serving a minimum enlistment term, or were a forty-year “lifer”…whether you retired as an enlisted soldier or Five-Star Officer…whether you’re a man or woman…Republican or Democrat …or whether you’re White, Black or Brown: It makes no difference. You are all veterans. You’re all heroes for serving and protecting our country-- and the New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services is here for you. We have 17 field offices statewide. All are staffed by nationally-certified service officers who themselves are veterans and will gladly help with all of your benefits needs.
