The Bureau of Land Management Division of Recreation and Visitor Services (BLM Recreation) is the national office in Washington DC that oversees recreation and visitor services on BLM-managed lands.  The office handles a wide scope of duties that center on administering numerous National Recreation Programs

The BLM national recreation office also: 
  • Promotes, supports, and partners with other governmental entities, tribes, public organizations, and volunteers in pursuit of goals that mutually benefit BLM recreation opportunities and partner programs and projects;
  •  
  • Supports efforts to recruit and train volunteers who provide needed support to complete public lands enhancement and stewardship projects; and
  •  
  • Assists the BLM State Offices by reviewing and helping shape their recreation programs, projects, and budgets, to ensure they conform to law, policy and priorities. 
This national focus assists BLM Field Offices improve on-the-ground recreation and visitor services management.  The result is a high-quality and cost-effective recreation program that provides a broad range of benefits to users, communities, and the American public.
