1-800-Wheelchair Scholarship Fund

Scholarship fund will award one $500 scholarship to a high school or undergraduate student. Scholarship is open to students of any major or concentration and the winner's name, essay and photo will be posted on 1800wheelchair.com. Although not a requirement, preference will be given to students with mobility disabilities.

Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing (AG Bell) Scholarships

Offers several scholarships for undergraduate and graduate study with awards ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. Recipients and award amounts are determined by a committee of volunteers.

AmeriCorps

Program administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service that allows people of all ages and backgrounds to obtain help paying for education in exchange for a year of service.

American Association on Intellectual & Developmental Disability (AAIDD) Fellowships & Awards

Each year AAIDD honors selected individuals or groups who have made outstanding contributions to the field. Web site includes information on award guidelines, selection criteria and application deadlines.

American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) Scholarships

The AFB sponsors a number of scholarships each year. Most are designated for specific fields of study.

Anne & Matt Harbison Scholarship

Scholarship available from the P. Buckley Moss for a graduating high school senior with a certified language-related learning difference who is pursuing post-secondary education.

Anne Ford Scholarship

A scholarship given to a high school senior with an identified learning disability (LD) who is pursuing an undergraduate degree.

Association for Education & Rehabilitation of the Blind & Visually Impaired (AER) - William & Dorothy Ferrell Scholarship

AER offers two scholarships awarded in the even number years. Selected applicants who are legally blind and are studying for a career in the field of services to persons who are blind or visually impaired are awarded $500.

Blinded Veterans Association - Kathern F. Gruber Scholarship Awards

Spouses and dependent children of blinded veterans are eligible for assistance with higher education tuition. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit through an application process and evaluated by a committee. Awards are for one year but recipients can reapply and receive the award up to four times. The blinded veteran family member is not required to be a BVA member for the spouse or child to receive a scholarship. Contact a BVA field representive for maximum assistance.

CIA Undergraduate Scholarship Program

If you are a high school senior planning to enroll in a 4-or 5-year college program, or a college sophomore enrolled in a 4-or 5-year college program, looking for career experience in a dynamic environment, apply to the CIA's Undergraduate Scholar Program. Applications will be accepted from July 15 - November 1, 2009.

Lighthouse Scholarships & Career Awards

Helps students and employed individuals who are visually impaired fulfill their dreams of higher education and success in the workplace. Montgomery GI Bill

National Federation of the Blind (NFB) Scholarships

Through the Looking Glass (TLG) College Scholarships for Students of Parents with Disabilities
