Cancer Control PLANET
Cancer control planners, program staff, and researchers have the same goals: to reduce cancer risk, the number of new cancer cases, and the number of deaths from cancer, as well as enhance the quality of life for cancer survivors. While many share the same goals, all do not have easy access to resources that can facilitate the transfer of evidence-based research findings into practice. This PLANET portal provides access to data and resources that can help planners, program staff, and researchers to design, implement and evaluate evidence-based cancer control programs.

Cancer, Culture and Literacy Institute 2004
The Cancer, Culture and Literacy Institute is a series of educational activities that examine the nexus of culture and literacy relating to effective communications and research. The Institute encompasses a five-day hands-on intensive learning experience at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa, Florida January 10-15, 2004, web-based educational experience, and a mentoring experience with a nationally renowned scholar involved in this area of scientific inquiry. A yearlong commitment is expected, where applicants apply new knowledge in research activities.

National Task Force on Hepatitis B: Focus on Asians and Pacific Islanders
The National Task Force on Hepatitis B: Focus on Asians and Pacific Islanders was founded in 1997. The Taskforce is composed of a committed group of individuals and organizations from the public, private, and academic sectors. Up until 2002, the Taskforce received technical guidance and support from the CDC.Notably, the Taskforce has been a catalyst for action nationally as well as locally especially among the 12 states which have the highest number of Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) children born between the years 1984-1993: California, New York, Hawaii, Texas, New Jersey, Illinois, Washington, Florida, Virginia, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.Currently, the Taskforce recommends vaccinating high school or early college/university students. Through frequent communication, the Taskforce is able to minimize the duplication of efforts across the Nation.

South Asian Health Issues
This section provides pointers to some studies of health issues extracted mostly from Medline that are specifically concerned with South Asians, particularly women, for example, studies that show ethnic differences in incidences of certain medical conditions. The stress is on medical issues, though sociological concerns and circumstances are sometimes tied in. This is not meant to be an exhaustive survey of such studies. Also bear in mind that any one study cannot be taken to provide conclusive evidence of any phenomenon; the study that contradicts it may not be far behind.
