The World Bank, the European
Union, Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), German Technical
Cooperation (GTZ), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United
Nations (FAO) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)
are major donors in agriculture. The United Kingdom, Germany, the
Netherlands and Japan support applied agricultural research, agricultural
policy analysis, infrastructure development, macroeconomic stabilization,
horticulture and micro-enterprise. USAID is the leading donor in
the micro-enterprise sector and ranks third in agriculture.

Catholic Relief Services (CRS), World Vision, CARE, Adventist Development
and Relief Agency, World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU), Technoserve,

and University of Pennsylvania. Kenyan implementers include the
Sustainable Community-Oriented Development Program, African Breeders
Service/Total Cattle Management (ABS/TCM), Tegemeo Institute, Kenya
Agricultural Research Institute, Kenya Institute for Public Policy
and Research (KIPPRA), K-Rep Bank, Cooperative Bank of Kenya, Association
of Micro Finance Institutions (AMFI), Faulu Kenya, Kenya Women's
Finance Trust (KWFT), Small and Micro Enterprise Program (SMEP),
K-Rep Development Agency, University of Nairobi, Seed Trade Association
of Kenya (STAK) and Kenya Plant Health Inspection Services (KEPHIS).
