Greg Shine, the park's Chief Ranger and Historian, also coordinates the park's public history program.

The park offers many opportunities for students in several disciplines. One of the more exciting and unique opportunities is in the discipline of public history, a growing area of specialization within the field of history.

The park has a strong public history program, where students can develop and perfect skills such as preparing and presenting a public program, developing an exhibit or publication, or digitizing and organizing and writing documents for public viewing.

Whether students are seeking experience that is in the public eye or behind the scenes, at an introductory or advanced level, the park is a great place to develop public history skills.
