David Morris, former Olympic National Park superintendent, will share thoughts and reflections from his three and a half years with the Peace Corps in Africa at the upcoming Friends of Olympic National Park (FONP) membership meeting on Thursday, March 29 at 7:00 p.m.

The program and meeting are both open to the public and will be held at the Olympic National Park Visitor Center at 3002 Mount Angeles Road in Port Angeles. 

Morris, a 37-year career employee of the National Park Service (NPS), was superintendent of Olympic National Park from 1994 until 2003.  He stepped down as park superintendent to become Country Director for the Peace Corps in Zambia, a country in south central Africa.  Morris and his wife Judith were both Peace Corps volunteers in Malawi (in southeastern Africa) and completed numerous international assignments during his NPS career.

The FONP will also provide an update on the park’s storm damage repair, present its annual Most Inspirational Friend award and elect officers for the coming year.

New and renewing members are welcome.  Annual dues are:

Individual:  $20
Family:  $25
Student:  $10
Current Member of the Armed Services: $10
