Faith-based and community organizations that sponsor day care and after school programs and faith-based private schools are eligible to receive funding from the U. S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to provide healthy, nutritious meals for children from low income families who are enrolled in their program.
Support for needy people is an important part of the USDA's mission. Children need access to a good breakfast and lunch because it is important to their health and maximizes learning. - The School Lunch and Breakfast Program
(www.fns.usda.gov/cnd/Lunch/) - Special Milk Program for Children
