Is the NPS actually moving this house?

-Yes!  As part of the General Management Plan for the site, in order to properly restore, preserve, and protect the home of Alexander Hamilton, it must be moved.  Currently, the site is wedged between an apartment house and a church.  When moved, it will be relocated around the corner in St. Nickolas Park and restored to its original condition.  For the first time in over 100 years, visitors will be able to get a full 360 degree view of Mr. Hamilton's Grange.

So what is a "Grange"?

-The word grange refers to an anceteral home, and it was named such by Hamilton in respect to his  fathers homestead in Scotland.
