U.S. ATTORNEY ANNOUNCES LOCAL POINT OF CONTACT FOR ELECTION DAY PROGRAM

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

R. Alexander Acosta, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida, announced today the Department of Justice's local points of contact for the Department's Election Day Program. The Election Day Program is intended to ensure public confidence in the integrity of the election process by providing local points of contact within the Department where the public can report possible voting rights violations or election fraud.

Complaints about ballot access problems can be made directly to the Civil Rights Division's Voting Section in Washington at 1-800-253-3931 or 202-307-2767. If the complaint relates to issues regarding race, color, religion, or national origin, please contact the Civil Rights Division's Criminal Section at 202-514-3204. Locally, Susan Osborne, the District Election Officer, will likewise be available to receive complaints of alleged fraud or abuses. She will be on duty in this District while the polls are open, and can be reached at telephone numbers (305) 961-9104 and (305) 961-9001. Finally, the FBI will also have Special Agents available in each field office. Locally, the FBI can be reached by the public at 305-944-9101.
