MAN ADMITS OPERATING MARIJUANA GROW HOUSE IN BOLTON

Nora R. Dannehy, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, today announced that QUYET VAN LE, 31, of Danbury and Bolton, Connecticut, pleaded guilty yesterday, January 7, before United States District Judge Alvin W. Thompson in Hartford to one count of manufacture and possession with intent to distribute 100 or more marijuana plants.

According to documents filed with the Court and statements made in court, LE knowingly cultivated marijuana plants at a residence located at 16 Enrico Road in Bolton, where the defendant sometimes lived.  On July 15, 2008, LE was arrested after he was found in possession of approximately 240 mature marijuana plants at the Bolton residence.

Judge Thompson has scheduled sentencing for March 27, 2009, at which time LE faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of five years, a maximum term of imprisonment of 40 years, and a fine of up to $2 million.

LE has been detained since his arrest.

This case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Brian P. Leaming and Geoffrey M. Stone.
