The
National Fluids Minerals Conference was held June 22-24, 2004 at the Holiday
Inn in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The conference was preceded by a one day National
Petroleum Forum on June 21.
The
Bureau of Land Management (BLM) conducts the bi-annual National Fluids
Minerals Conference in conjunction with a host state. This year's conference
was co-hosted by the State of Wyoming. The conference served as a venue
for participants from Federal and State agencies, industry, Indian tribes
and the public to provide recommendations on how to best promote the development
of domestic energy resources in a manner which is conducive to maintaining
environmental quality and preserving ecosystem health.
Fluid
minerals include non-renewable resources such as oil and gas and helium
as well as geothermal resources, a source of renewable energy.
