CDI Preliminary Proposal Status

PRELIMINARY PROPOSAL STATUS

Dear Colleagues,

Thank you for your interest in CDI. Here is a summary of the expected timetable for feedback to PIs about 2009 CDI preliminary proposals:

Week of March 2-6: Unofficial notification to PIs of Type II pre-proposals that have been recommended for full-proposal invitation by the CDI Working Group (invitation not official until reviewed and concurred by NSF management)

Week of March 16-20: Unofficial notification to PIs of Type I pre-proposals that have been recommended for full-proposal invitation by the CDI Working Group (invitation not official until reviewed and concurred by NSF management)

By March 20: Official Invite / Do Not Invite decisions for Type II pre-proposals, with panel summaries and reviews viewable in FastLane

By April 3: Official Invite / Do Not Invite decisions for Type I pre-proposals, with panel summaries and reviews viewable in FastLane

If you have submitted a Type II pre-proposal and you do not receive unofficial notification by March 6, you may assume that the pre-proposal has not been recommended for full-proposal invitation by the CDI Working Group.

If you have submitted a Type I pre-proposal and you do not receive unofficial notification by March 20, you may assume that the pre-proposal has not been recommended for full-proposal invitation by the CDI Working Group.

The purpose of the unofficial notifications is to alert PIs as soon as possible to begin preparing full proposals, for which the deadline is May 20 (both Type I and Type II).

Sincerely,
NSF CDI
