  • June 6, 2007: Department of Labor Safety Day, Francis Perkins Building, Washington, DC.
    • American Heart Association representatives staffed an Alliance Program exhibit booth, conducted safety demonstrations and distributed safety and health information during the Department of Labor Safety Day.
  • May 6-12, 2007: 2007 North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week. The American Heart Association (AHA) and a number of other Alliance Program participants supported 2007 NAOSH Week; "All Modes of Transportation." Sponsored annually by the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), an Alliance Program participant, and the Canadian Society of Safety Engineering, the Week focuses on the importance of preventing injuries and illnesses in the workplace.
  • June 22-25, 2006: CCPRF/ECCU 2006 International Educational Conference, Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
    • Earl Hicks, then-Program Analyst, Office of Outreach Services and Alliances, Directorate of Cooperative and State Programs, USDOL-OSHA, Tony Gilson, Industrial Hygienist, Region V, Fairview Heights, Illinois, Area Office, USDOL-OSHA, Pat Stark, Safety and Health Compliance Specialist, Florida Consultation Program; William Tomlin, Safety and Health Compliance Specialist, Florida Consultation Program and AHA representatives, John Hayes and Toni Reel, staffed the Alliance Program exhibit booth during the conference.
  • May 7-10, 2006: 2006 American Occupational Health (AOHC) Conference, Century Plaza Hotel, Los Angeles, California.
    • May 6, 2006: Dr. Don Wright, then-Director, Office of Occupational Medicine, Directorate of Science, Technology and Medicine, USDOL-OSHA and AHA representatives, William W. Hammill, MD, Associate Professor, University of Virginia, Director, Cardiac and Vascular Services, Martha Jefferson Hospital, Charlottesville, Virginia and Michael R. Sayre, MD, Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine, Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, gave a presentation; "New Guidelines for First Aid, CPR and AEDs and OSHA Regulations."
  • May 5-12, 2006: AAOHN 2006 Symposium & Expo, Albuquerque Convention Center, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
    • May 10, 2006: Elise Handelman, Director, Office of Occupational Health Nursing, Directorate of Science, Technology and Medicine, USDOL-OSHA, and AHA representative, Diane Fendya, RN, gave a presentation, "CPR/AED and OSHA Compliance: What the new guidelines mean to you."
  • January 26, 2006: OSHA Journal Club, Washington, DC.
    • Dr. Michael R. Sayre, Associate Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine, Ohio State University, and Dr. Tom Zoch, Staff Physician, Theda Clark Medical Center, gave a presentation entitled, "American Heart Association New CPR and ECC Updated Guidelines."
  • August 8-9, 2005: American Heart Association CPR/AED HeartSaver Train-the-Trainer Course, Department of Labor, Washington, DC.
    • Jo Haag and Alan Carrington, AHA representatives, provided AHA CPR/AED Heart Saver Train-the-Trainer course for DOL staff members. After completion of the "train the trainer" courses, DOL staff were able to train their colleagues in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and the proper use of automated external defibrillators.
  • September 30 - October 3, 2004: Emergency Cardiovascular Care Update, Hilton New Orleans Riverside, New Orleans, Louisiana.
    • September 29, 2004: Paula White, then-Director, Directorate of Cooperative and State Programs, USDOL-OSHA, gave a presentation entitled "Joining Forces to Expand our Reach: An OSHA Update," during the Emergency Cardiovascular Care Pre-Session.
    • Dorinda Folse, Compliance Assistance Specialist, Region VI, and Sandra Khan, Safety and Occupational Health Specialist, USDOL-OSHA, staffed the Alliance Program exhibit booth during the conference.
  • July 13-15, 2004: American Heart Association CPR/AED HeartSaver Train-the-Trainer Course, OSHA Training Institute, Arlington Heights, Illinois.
    • Jo Haag and Alan Carrington, AHA representatives, provided AHA CPR/AED HeartSaver Train-the-Trainer course for OSHA staff members. After completion of the "train the trainer" courses, OSHA staff were able to train their colleagues in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and the proper use of automated external defibrillators.
