Within the Richfield Field Office, the BLM manages livestock grazing on public lands in Sanpete, Sevier, Wayne, and Piute counties, portions of Garfield County, and some allotments within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Capitol Reef National Park. Livestock grazing on public land is administered through livestock grazing allotments. Through an inter-district agreement, the Price Field Office manages several allotments within the Richfield Field Office, and the Richfield Field Office manages several allotments within the Price Field Office. There are 194 allotments in the RFO that were used by 143 livestock operators in 2002. The total forage available for livestock use in the RFO is 109,951 animal unit months (AUMs). Grazing permits are usually issued for 10 years.
