Directions from:
Fauntleroy-Southworth Ferry from Seattle
Fauntleroy-Southworth ferry terminal is reached via West Seattle Freeway Bridge from I-5. Directions are via Southbound I-5 from the Seattle Regional Office. Take Exit No. 163A to the West Seattle Bridge. Follow the West Seattle Freeway to the terminal. The West Seattle Freeway will turn into Fauntleroy Way SW at 35th Avenue SW, stay on Fauntleroy. You will be getting close to the Fauntleroy Ferry Terminal once you have passed Lincoln Park, which will be on your right.
- On most runs, the ferry stops at Vashon Island first. Check the ferry schedule for sailing times. Disembark at the Southworth Ferry Terminal.
- Upon leaving the ferry at Southworth, proceed ahead on Southworth Drive, which goes directly up the hill. The road will veer right, follow the water for a short distance, and then veer left. Follow Southworth Drive until it intersects with Colchester Drive. Turn right on Colchester. (Signs will mark this as the turn to Manchester State Park.)
- Continue on for 1.7 miles on Colchester Road until it ends and intersects with Main Street in Manchester. Turn left onto Main Street and then an almost immediate right onto Beach Drive.
- Drive for about 1.2 miles on Beach Drive, follow Beach Drive and you will see chain link fences on both sides of the road marking the U.S. Naval Fuel Base. Turn right onto the blacktop road when the fence on the right ends and you see the U.S. National Marine Fisheries Lab and Manchester Lab sign. You will pass the U.S. National Marine Fisheries facilities (on the right) and continue on to the EPA lab.
- Follow the road until it ends at the Manchester EPA Lab parking lot. The lab is a large cement building with a green roof. The main entrance is on the North side of the building.
From Tacoma
- From I-5, take Hwy 16 toward Bremerton.
- After crossing the Narrows Bridge, drive 16.7 miles, then take a right on the first Port Orchard exit, which is Sedgwick Road. At the end of the ramp, turn right.
- Follow Sedgwick Road through the light (2.5 miles), turn left onto Long Lake Road.
- Follow Long Lake Road for 2.4 miles to the intersection of Mile Hill Drive SE and turn right.
- Drive 1.5 miles on Mile Hill Drive SE until it intersects Colchester Drive and turn left onto Colchester Drive. (Signs will mark this as the turn to Manchester State Park.)

From Bremerton
- Take Highway 3 South to Gorst.
- From Gorst, take Hwy 16 towards Tacoma. Do not take Hwy 166 into Port Orchard. Stay on Hwy. 16 until you get to the Sedgwick exit. At the end of the ramp turn left.
- Follow Sedgwick Road through the light (2.5 miles). Turn left onto Long Lake Road.
