Native Wildflower Seed Production Research Symposium
July 19-20, 2007 at Leu Gardens, Orlando, Florida

This research symposium was a forum for exchange of information among researchers and growers dealing with seed production of regionally adapted species of native wildflowers (ecotypes; pre-variety germplasm). Topics addressed were genetics, production practices, pollination, harvesting, conditioning, storage, and wild-collected seed.

Mohave Desert Native Plants for Revegetation Symposium and Workshop
April 18-19, 2006 at Suncoast Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada

Organized by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, Geological Survey, Bureau of Land Management, and Forest Service, this symposium and workshop facilitated discussion about the Mohave Desert.

The symposium examined the medicinal and aromatic plants supply chain by focusing on the people and entities who influence the supply chain -- from wildcrafters to growers, from indigenous people to non-indigenous people, from industry to government. Panel discussions addressed the elements of and challenges to the sustainable supply of medicinal plants.

Symposium 2002: Are you using sustainably sourced medicinal and aromatic plants for product development?

The symposium explored many areas concerning aromatic plant materials collected from the wild. The lessons learned by the medicinal plant industry using materials sourced from wild - crafting and cultivation are invaluable to the aroma industry for designing systems of long-term sustainability.
