Street Sweeping - Residential street sweeping in the City of Villa Park is performed under contract by R.F. Dickson Company. Currently all residential streets are swept twice a month. Street sweeping not only beautifies our streets and community by removing litter and debris, but protects our environment and keeps the storm drain system from clogging. Visible debris, such as paper and leaves, can collect in the gutters, which block storm water facilities and can cause localized flooding during heavy rains. Invisible debris, such as metal particles and other hazardous waste products left by passing vehicles, can be extremely harmful to fish and other wildlife if they reach our creeks, rivers, beaches and bays.

How can you do your part?

* Remember to move vehicles off the street on street sweeping days.
* Keep basketball hoops out of the streets and gutters.
* Place leaves in large green recycling bin for collection.
* Do not pile leaves or debris in the gutter. Sweepers will go around them.
