Mussel Inspection Program
The Lake County Board of Supervisors passed an ordinance to protect water bodies from mussel infestation, requiring mandatory inspection for any water vessel prior to launching in a Lake County water body. This applies to all motorized and non-motorized vessels including boats, kayaks, canoes, jet skis, inflatable rafts, etc. All vessels are required to obtain
Inspection Stickers prior to launch.

As part of CDPH's efforts to provide updated information to Californians on what they can do to protect themselves and their families from the swine flu outbreak, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has activated a
toll-free H1N1 (swine flu) hotline (1-888-865-0564) in English and Spanish. Assistance in other languages is also available. The hotline is available Monday through Friday, from 7am to 6pm, and on weekends from 8am to 4pm.

National County Government Week May 4 - 8, 2009 with a Board of Supervisors proclamation on the May 5 agenda, Courthouse lobby displays, and a County Government Career Information Day on May 5 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Special emphasis this year will be on Lake County's
"green government" efforts.
