Arcata Businesses - On November 4, 2008, the citizens of Arcata passed a 3/4 cent Transactions and Use Tax.  The sales tax will go into effect beginning April 1, 2009.  The State Board of Equalization will be contacting local businesses with more information around February 2009.  Additional information will be posted here as it becomes available.  
 


New Year Donations for 2nd K-9   The K-9 Trust Fund Citizen Volunteers' fundraising efforts are still underway to purchase APD's 2nd patrol service K-9 by Feburary 2009.  The Police Department is hoping to welcome the new K-9 in time for the 30 day K-9 training that begins in March.  New Year donations can be sent to: K9 Trust Fund, APD, 736 F. Home Energy Efficiency Loans Available - The City of Arcata was awarded funds from the State Department of Housing and Community Development to assist low income families in Arcata. The Community Development Department is now accepting applications for low interest loans for low income Arcata homeowners to make energy efficiency upgrades. Read More>
