Air Force Small Business Solutions Center

The Air Force Small Business Solutions Center (SBSC) offers tools and strategies that ensure an open and transparent small business process.

Located at Brooks City-Base, Texas, the SBSC is initially serving the Southwest region of the Installation Acquisition Transformation (IAT) effort to regionalize contracting. Customers will be able to find the right acquisition solution while assisting small businesses to better position themselves for success in seeking strategic contract awards.

The SBSC will use the following strategies in its mission:

  • Requirements packaging: provide advice on structuring requirements so opportunities are present to capitalize on small businesses as prime contractors
  • Acquisition strategy options: assist requirements and acquisition teams in formulating strategies that will fully engage small businesses
  • Education and training: provided to acquisition personnel and small business specialists to ensure awareness and facilitate readiness
  • Knowledge sharing: collect data and information on best practices and lessons learned to share Air Force-wide
  • Data analysis: collect data on information that could affect the outcome of strategically sourced requirements
  • Market research: enhance the internal customers’ understanding of the small business industry
  • Relationships/partnerships: advise acquisition decision-makers on meeting goals and objectives
  • Interfaces: identify and establish relationships with identified customers through meetings and acquisition-specific planning
