 Major Actions Taken to Date:
  • NASA submitted draft Recovery Act Program Plans to OMB as required.
  • Initial Recovery Act plans and allocations were integrated into the agency's initial operating plan forwarded to OMB and Congress.
  • Johnson Space Center (JSC) Hurricane Damage Repair Projects: JSC posted amendments for the two Roof/Loggia Package IFBs (Invitation for Bids), with reponses to over 100 submitted questions. The bid due date was moved to May 7th for both packages to allow bidders more time to analyze the responses and prepare quality bids. No impact to construction schedules is anticipated.
  • Johnson Space Center (JSC) Hurricane Damage Repair Projects: JSC conducted additional pre-proposal conference/site visits for the 8(a) companies to which solicitations were issued the previous week.
 Major Planned Actions:
  • NASA intends to post its Recovery Act Program Plans when the Plans are finalized.
  • NASA intends to begin soliciting for Science, Exploration, and Aeronautics contracts and grant proposals, and then start work on Recovery Act projects, as soon as Program Plans are finalized with reviews completed by OMB and Congress.
  • Johnson Space Center (JSC) Hurricane Damage Repair Projects (under NASA's Cross Agency Support (CAS) activities): Bid opening for two Roof/Loggia package work packages is scheduled on May 7, 2009. After bid opening, JSC will conduct the follow-on process leading to awarding these two contracts, targeted for early June.
  • Johnson Space Center (JSC) Hurricane Damage Repair Projects (under NASA's Cross Agency Support (CAS) activities): Expect to issue the remaining two of seven total 8(a) RFPs by mid-May.
