  • The following awards totaling $30,863,743.34 were made during this reporting period: Construction for the Peace Arch Port of Entry in Blaine, WA ($26,284,708). Design services for the exterior repairs and energy efficient systems at the Philadelphia, PA, US Customs House ($1,387,421.34). Appraisal Services for Otay Mesa, CA LPOE ($7,000). Construction services at the Calais, ME LPOE ($2,896,145). Study for the HPGB Modernization at the Huntington, WV Federal Building ($107,871). Survey and Appraisal for the Billings, MT US Courthouse ($4,280). Building Studies for the HPGB Limited Scope project at the Woodlawn, MD CMS Headquarters Complex ($77,814). Building Studies for the HPGB Limited Scope project in Martinsburg, WV ($73,431). Site Survey for the New Courthouse in Bakersfield, CA ($25,073). PROGRAM MANAGEMENT OFFICE (PMO) - GSA has established a national PMO dedicated to managing Recovery Act projects. The PMO has national and local elements to ensure that the necessary expertise and infrastructure are coordinated and available when and where they are needed. The PMO is staffed and operational.
  • GSA is assisting Federal agencies with the identification of vehicles for replacement using ARRA funds. Agencies are selecting the type of replacement vehicles and will provide this data to GSA by May 6, 2009. GSA extended this deadline by one week to allow more time for agencies to identify replacement vehicles.
 Major Planned Actions:
  • CONTRACT AWARDS - GSA has identified additional contracts that can be awarded within 120 days and is taking necessary actions to ensure the expeditious obligation of funds while maximizing competition.
  • - GSA is working with the Environmental Protection Agency to quantify actual improvements in fuel economy and emission reductions for the specific vehicles purchased and vehicles replaced using Recovery funds. - GSA will perform an evaluation of the improvements in fuel economy and emission reductions that will be achieved. Upon completing the evaluation, vehicle replacement decisions will be made in mid May and submitted to agencies for concurrence by May 22, 2009. - Following the concurrence of agencies on the planned orders, GSA will obligate funds and submit orders to manufacturers for the replacement vehicles by June 1, 2009.
  • We are taking actions to establish an Office of Federal High-Performance Green Buildings in GSA.
