Predoctoral Training Program

Predoctoral Training ProgramThe Predoctoral Emphasis Pathway in Tumor Immunology, established in 1998, seeks to attract bright young minds to a rewarding career as cancer immunologists

Housed in leading graduate schools — like Harvard Medical School, The Rockefeller University, and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine — the program provides funds to develop and implement a curriculum of advanced tumor immunology courses, including dedicated lectures, student-led tutorials, and cancer immunology journal clubs for graduate students who are competitively chosen to participate in the program.

The predoctoral training program exposes graduate students to the exciting, emerging areas of investigation within the field of cancer immunology.

Students selected for the program can receive early exposure during their formative studies to exciting, emerging areas of investigation within the field of cancer immunology.  In addition, student participation in annual Cancer Research Institute symposia can introduce them into the tight-knit community of leading tumor immunologists — helping to establish a relationship between these up-and-coming research leaders and the Institute.  Additionally, students are also trained to conduct cutting-edge research in top laboratories, and thus are provided an opportunity to contribute to and publish important findings within the field of tumor immunology.
