A department to protect workers' equity
Jack BarbashThe Labor Department stands as testament to the ability of institutions to act on the social justice impulse rationally and democratically. This article takes as its standpoint the precept that the modern state requires a department of labor or equivalent to guarantee equity as a necessary condition of social stability.
