NIDCD-Specific Information:
NIDCD new
and renewal T32 awards are typically started on July 1 of the year following
submission. The NIDCD expects that training in the responsible conduct of
research will be offered within the format of a semester-long course or
seminar series, allowing for face-to-face discussion of material presented
and assigned. Requests for short-term health professional trainee positions
are encouraged for new and renewal T32 applicants, if appropriate, but should
be amply justified. NIDCD encourages its T32-supported trainees to submit
individual fellowship applications to provide continued support of their
dissertation research and postdoctoral research, as appropriate, within the
time limitations of allowable NRSA support. Prospective applicants for new
and renewal T32 awards are strongly encouraged to contact the NIDCD research
training program official noted above prior to preparing an application. |

The NINR funds this program to enable institutions with schools
of nursing to make NRSA awards to individuals for predoctoral and
postdoctoral research training in specified areas, using the standard NRSA
stipend and budgetary levels (http://grants.nih/gov/grants/gude/notice-files/NOT-OD-06-026.html,
and up to $800 annually for travel costs for each trainee. NINR
supports and conducts clinical and basic research and research training on
acute and chronic illness across the life span, focusing on health promotion,
disease prevention, health disparities, caregiving, management of symptoms,
self-management, and care at the end of life. NINR seeks to extend
nursing science by integrating the biological and behavioral sciences,
applying new technologies to nursing research questions, improving the
quality and effectiveness of interventions, and developing nursing research
investigators. In so doing, the NINR is helping to address the critical
shortage of nursing faculty, which both contributes to, and is affected by,
the increasing gap between the supply and demand for nurses in the
workforce. NINR does require applicants requesting $500,000 or more
in direct costs for any year to contact staff to obtain agreement that the IC
will accept the application.
NINR requests that all applications use July 1 as the project start date.
NINR does not allow short-term training in the T32 program.
NINR will
not accept T32 applications from DNP programs. |
