NMFS Announces 2005 R&R Workshopat Pacific Marine Expo November 12, 2004
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Region, and the United States Coast Guard, North Pacific Regional Fisheries Training Center (USCG) will present a workshop for the fishing industry on 2005 recordkeeping and reporting (R&R) requirements for Federal fisheries off the coast of Alaska, according to James W. Balsiger, Administrator, Alaska Region, NMFS.
This session will provide an overview of 2005 revisions and additions to Federal fisheries R&R regulations (50 CFR part 679). Instructions for completion and submittal of forms and logbooks will be provided. In addition, this session will summarize the upcoming R&R requirements for the new Crab Rationalization Program in the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands (BSAI) (50 CFR part 680).

REMINDER: The Crab Rationalization Program workshop (see below) will introduce and explain proposed regulations (see 69 FR 63200, October 29, 2004) to implement Amendments 18 and 19 to the Fishery Management Plan for BSAI King and Tanner Crabs.
