President Obama has signed the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act. The bill will improve and expand national and community service programs and support nonprofits in working with community volunteers. In these difficult times -- when needs are growing but the resources to meet them are shrinking -- this legislation will provide a powerful boost to tap into the growing desire to serve others and strengthen our organizations' ability to continue providing the services our communities need.
